Week 5

My favorite Web 2.0 sites are TeacherTube and Facebook.  TeacherTube was created as a resource for teachers.  Thousands of videos, audios, documents, and photos are availabe for teachers.  Groups and blogs are also a part of TeacherTube.  I recommend TeacherTube because it is a way for teachers to connect to other teachers, inspire other teachers, and be inspired by other teachers.  Facebook is a social network service.  People can share photos and connect to others.  I recommend Facebook as a great way to be reunited with friends from the past, make new friends, and keep in touch with others.

Week 4

The multimedia that I will use in my classroom is interactive storybooks.  I really like the PBS Kids interactive storybooks.  A computer will be set up in my classroom as a work station.  The students will actively listen to the story as it is read.  I really like the phrases being highlighted as they are read.  This will help children practice phrasing to become more fluent readers.  Also, the video clips about vowels that are available at this website are awesome.  I will definitely use these clips to introduce and reinforce vowel sounds.
